during yesterday's upgrade (1.0.4) I noticed that the bug has silently disappeared. In retrospect I find it very strange that xdm segfaulted where it did, sizeof() being a compile-time operator... or it segfaulted inside ConvertAddr(), but that bug is claimed to have been fixed Feb 24 (IIRC; mentioned in the upstream changelog), and I remember quite clearly tracing xdm's execution in the debugger... Hm, whatever the cause for the segfaults may have been, it's gone. I still think my non-null test should be inserted, just to prevent possible future mistakes - it's rather non-trivial to see why ifa_addr==NULL can't proceed beyond auth.c:738... ;-) but that's a wishlist bug.
