the resource /etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm-color is not checked when
starting xterm... workaround is to add specifications to
/etc/X11/app-defaults/XTerm which is still checked.
Below is a section of an strace, don't know if it is helpful but it
shows the one file being checked.
