Thanks for the link. I ran dpkg with -D10 and found that /usr/lib/X11R6/nvidia didn't exist, and I found a diversion for it in /var/lib/dpkg/diversions from nvidia-glx. I created that directory, and then the package installed. Is this a bug in nvidia-glx or what? I haven't had any problems like this until now.
