Package: xlibmesa-gl Version: 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 Severity: normal
I have Xorg 6.9 includin xlibmesa-gl and nvidia-glx installed. xlibmesa-gls' libGL.so libraries are diverted by nvidia-glx. Now there ar two libGL.so... libararies: libGL.so.1.2 from xlibmesa-gl and libGL.so.1.0.ABCD from nvidia-glx (ABCD depending on the driver version). Both have an soname of libGL.so.1 Whenever a shared library is installed by any package ldconfig may run. Ldconfig creates symbolic links in /usr/lib based on soname and file name of the libraries it finds to the most recent version it. Now since both libGL candidates have the same soname, but mesas' has a so.1.2, ldconfig creates /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 -> libGL.so.1.2. Thus the mesa variant gets used despite the installation of nvidia-glx. Programs depending on accelerated GL (like cedega) fail or have a redeced preformance. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-k7 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages xlibmesa-gl depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libx11-6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System protocol client li ii libxext6 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Window System miscellaneous exte ii libxxf86vm1 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 X Video Mode selection library xlibmesa-gl recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
