Just a note that I reproduced this installing Etch d-i beta2, while
installing x-window-system-core. Here is an approximate log of the
context in which this happened. I meant to join dpkg's log, but I
unfortunately reinstalled over that install and lost that log, so this
may be not as helpful as I wish it would be. I did the reinstall I just
mentionned partly to try to reproduce this, but I was unable to. I tried
breaking up x-window-system-core's install in parts to identify a
smaller set of possibly culprit packages. Installing ttf-bitstream-vera
first did not show the error as I expected.
