It it possible to add a ChangeLog note when upgrading or a hook when configuring this package or using dexconf in the x11-common package to inform users to add this option if the have too old kernels? The above has been tested on linux-image-2.6.15-8-smp and earlier kernels and linux-2.5.16-rc5-686-smp.
