Package: x11-common Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 Severity: important Upgrading Unstable from x11-common 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11 to 6.9.0.dfsg.1-4 I get this error message from dpkg:
Unpacking replacement x11-common ... dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/x11-common_6.9.0.dfsg.1-4_all.deb (--unpack): trying to overwrite `/usr/include/X11', which is also in package libxft-dev System startup links for /etc/init.d/x11-common already exist. Setting up X server socket directory /tmp/.X11-unix...done. Setting up ICE socket directory /tmp/.ICE-unix...done. Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/x11-common_6.9.0.dfsg.1-4_all.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I have libxft-dev 2.1.8.2-2 installed, which is the current version in Unstable. I'm not sure which package is at fault, libxft-dev or x11-common. But since the x11-common upgrade fails I'm reporting the problem here for a start.
