Just for the record I was having similar problems see http://lists.debian.org/debian-x/2005/08/msg00235.html but after upgrading to partially unstable and experimental, the libgl warnings have disappeared but I cannot get direct rendering to work. Is this fixed in experimental and if so how does one completely upgrade all X packages using aptitude just to make sure.
