I just uploaded xkeyboard-config 0.6-1 (binary package is xkb-data) to experimental. This is the first version which can be tested without much pain, but please read /usr/share/doc/xkb-data/README.Debian to learn how to use it. At the moment I focus on making its installation painless, and will fix XKB layout bugs later. Comments are welcome.
