It does not crash when direct rendering is disabled, though, so it looks like a bug in direct rendering. In gdb it looks that the stack is corrupt, but I have not recompiled with debugging. However, gdb claims the top frame is mallopt from glibc. I have a MGA450 graphic card and use Matrox driver BETA3.0. I tried both mga_drv.o from Matrox and from XFree, but that makes no difference. The mga_hal_drv.o from Matrox is necessary to get direct rendering. Matrox does not provide dri/mga_drv.so for XFree 4.3, so I now use the one from xlibmesa-dri, while before I used the one from Matrox. I am willing to provide more additional information you may ask for. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ Versions of packages xlibmesa-dri depends on: ii xlibmesa-gl 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 Mesa 3D graphics library [XFree86] Other relevant packages: ii freeglut3 [libglut3] 2.2.0-6.1 OpenGL Utility Toolkit ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-12 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:3.3.3-7 GCC support library ii libglut3 3.7-25 the OpenGL Utility Toolkit ii libice6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libsm6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 X Window System Session Management ii libstdc++5 1:3.3.3-7 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 X Window System protocol client li ii libxi6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 X Window System Input extension li ii libxmu6 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 X Window System miscellaneous util ii xlibmesa-gl [libgl1] 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 Mesa 3D graphics library [XFree86] ii xlibmesa-glu [libglu1] 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 Mesa OpenGL utility library [XFree ii xlibs 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 X Window System client libraries m -- no debconf information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jan 'Bulb' Hudec <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --cNdxnHkX5QqsyA0e Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: Digital signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAoJ13Rel1vVwhjGURAkPvAJsFT3ds+6d2fOO08dPZmZ9c7Alx7ACfRkti jtzvzFtFpLgRNwIlFiUoayY= =CwmS -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --cNdxnHkX5QqsyA0e-- --------------------------------------- Received: (at 248453-done) by bugs.debian.org; 17 Aug 2005 08:18:35 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Aug 17 01:18:35 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from cerrojo.elmundo.es (mail2.elmundo.es) [193.110.128.12] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1E5J87-0006UD-00; Wed, 17 Aug 2005 01:18:35 -0700 Received: from xanes.el-mundo.int (xanes.elmundo.int [10.5.222.50]) by mail2.elmundo.es (Postfix) with ESMTP id 44DE44610F; Wed, 17 Aug 2005 10:18:34 +0200 (CEST) Received: by xanes.el-mundo.int (Postfix, from userid 65500) id 1D55817315; Wed, 17 Aug 2005 10:18:33 +0200 (CEST) Received: from polgara.elmundo.int (polgara.elmundo.int [10.5.222.135]) by xanes.el-mundo.int (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0A76317313; Wed, 17 Aug 2005 10:18:33 +0200 (CEST) From: David =?iso-8859-15?q?Mart=EDnez_Moreno?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Organization: Debian To: Jan Hudec <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED], Riku Voipio <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Bug#248453: [mga] SEGV when running crack-attack on MGA G450 Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2005 10:18:31 +0200 User-Agent: KMail/1.8.1 References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; boundary="nextPart1145777.0cNnU8WTaJ"; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; micalg=pgp-sha1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Bogosity: No, tests=bogofilter, spamicity=0.420803, version=0.10.3 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 --nextPart1145777.0cNnU8WTaJ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-15" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Content-Disposition: inline Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-5 El Martes, 16 de Agosto de 2005 22:52, Jan Hudec escribi=F3: > On Tue, Aug 16, 2005 at 23:29:54 +0300, Riku Voipio wrote: > > Does the update to xorg-x11 in sid update help to crack-attack > > segfaults on mga? > > Yes, it now longer segfaults with direct rendering enabled. > > On the other hand, ti started segfaulting with direct rendering DISABLED, > but that shouldn't be mga driver fault (I sometimes have one X server > running in background and start another, which does not get direct > rendering then, so there it fails).
