In order to test this behavior I started a new testing server with "startx -- :1 >& log". Interaction with the OpenOffice.org menu's yield the following error messages in the log-file: syntax error: line 684 of stdin Errors encountered in stdin; not compiled. I don't know if this is a bug in OpenOffice.org or X, but mozilla seems to be unaffected.
