Hello, XSF. in bug #314571, Roberto Sánchez states that given that awk 
is a 
virtual package provided by several packages like mawk and gawk, you can end 
with a situation like:

- mawk (part of the base installation) slated for removal
- xserver-xfree86 slated for installation.
- gawk slated for installation

Run apt.

Since the order of installation is not deterministic, you could have:
- mawk is removed
- xserver-xfree86 is upacked and preconfigured
- gawk is installed

        So I think that the change should be in xorg and xfree86 repository.
