"The information included by reportbug suggests otherwise, and even if
that wasn't the case, that would be unlikely to cause slow wdm startup
unless it uses OpenGL (which it doesn't seem to, judging by its
dependencies) because the drivers in xlibmesa-dri only get loaded by the
client-side libGL. So this bug should probably be reassigned, possibly
starting with wdm."

Thank you for taking a look at my bug report.

Here's some further information:
I noticed that starting wdm had become considerably slower (from a couple of
seconds it changed to about one minute long wait) after I had upgraded X Window
System and several related packages. I have used Debian Unstable for about a
year and a half and I haven't experienced such delay in starting a GUI login
manager before. What made me suspect that this is a Mesa/dri related problem is
that I experienced similar long wait before starting wdm in NetBSD (on this
same computer) before I installed the NetBSD aperture driver and the NetBSD
Mesa package (for XFree86 4.4.0), which removed the delay in NetBSD. I realize
that my diagnose may easily be wrong, because I don't have much technical
knowledge on these issues. However, I wouldn't label this straight away as a
wdm problem because the problem (the slow X start up) didn't occur after wdm
upgrade. It occurred after upgrading the X Window System and related packages.
