Could you please send the keyboard section from your XF86Config-4 file, and the whole portion of your XFree86.0.log about keyboard configuration? You may also read in /usr/share/doc/xfree86-common/FAQ.gz the question "Why doesn't my '<>' key work?". This seems to be a different issue, but this section has nice instructions on how to investigate these problems, e.g. you could tell us what is displayed by xev when pressing Alt keys. Denis
