Package: xterm Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-6 Severity: normal the triggering problem is that when the xserver switches away, it seems to keep its key states. that becomes a problem, if the command that causes the switch away is started from an xterm, as then the enter key stays pressed. that's "half as bad" if it is a background command, as then one is "only" flooded with prompts. however, when the command blocks, the xterm stops processing events. it shows a black screen, the cpu usage is zero and strace indicates that select() times out once per second.
