I can only deduce, from having looked the XKB data, that if "uk" ever worked, it was purely an accident. The debconf template about this, though, should direct U.K. users to use the "gb" layout rather than "uk", however. Would you be content to view this as a documentation issue, which can be resolved once the relevant documentation is added? -- G.
