reassign 248619 kernel-image-2.6.6-1-k7 thanks Reassigning per information below.
I don't think the XFree86 X server should have to tell the kernel to load modules. Shouldn't hotplug or something take care of this? ----- Forwarded message from Clemens Brunner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ----- From: Clemens Brunner <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#248619: xserver-xfree86: X reports errors when kdm is started on bootup Date: Fri, 04 Jun 2004 16:13:54 +0200 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Thunderbird 0.6 (Windows/20040502) X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-4.9 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00 autolearn=ham version=2.63 Hi! I had exactly the same problem, but it's definitely not the mouse being misconfigured. The problem occurs only with the 2.6 kernel images (afaik), and it seems the mouse module doesn't get loaded automatically during the boot process. Instead, I added "psmouse" to /etc/modules, and now everything's working. Maybe this bug should be reassigned to the kernel-image-2.6.x package (currently x = 6-1-k7 on my machine).
