This lists code by David Dawes which is not in the 'sanitized' tree prepared
by Branden, but is in the x.org tree. This would be the code with potential
X-Oz/XFree86 1.1 license issues.

The notes here note the commits for the XFree86 repo. In the X.org repo,
most of these appear to have been introduced by these commits:
 18. Merged in XFree86 code up to 4.4.0 including changes to files that
     had a changed license. There was only one change which happened to
     be from me (Egbert Eich).
  23. Merged with XFree86 4.4.0. Added changes that went into infected
       files. Reverted darwin/bundle/**/Credits.rtf to XFree86 versions
       to avoid future conflicts on ASCII but not humal readable files.
       (There should probably be separate CreditsXorg.rtf files)
       (Egbert Eich).

The exception is the X-Oz commit, which was already present and is probably
the biggest hunk of problem code.

Please feel free to forward this to any list which is appropriate.

Other files modified by Dawes;
possibly (not necessarily) copyrightable
----------------------------------------
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/bindist/Linux-amd64
(directory)
  An entire new directory committed by Dawes. Commit logs claim the
  entire mess to be under the XFree86 1.1 license.

  The only way I can see that this would be safe is if it's autogenerated.

xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/Xinstall.sh
  Revisions 1.69-1.73, David Dawes.
  Significant functional changes. Includes XFree86 1.1 notice on one commit.

xc/config/cf/Imake.rules
  Revision 3.129, David Dawes
  Introduces a new #define'd routine.
  Apparently only affects Speedo fonts

xc/config/cf/X11.tmpl
  Revisions 1.248, 1.249, David Dawes
  Adds logic (about 8 lines).
  Apparently only affects Speedo fonts

xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/doc/sgml/README.sgml
  Commit 3.141 by dawes; "update source information"
  (Commit 3.140 is by Georgina Economou, plus trivialities)

xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/doc/sgml/RELNOTES.sgml
  Commit 1.116 by dawes, adding 'known problems' section
  (Commit 1.115 is by Georgina Economou, plus trivialities)

The rest of this message is purely informational since I think the rest of
this is OK.

By Dawes, probably not copyrightable
------------------------------------
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/drivers/neomagic/neo_driver.c
  Revision 1.75, David Dawes. Replacement of hex constant in three
  places (1A -> A1).

xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/etc/bindist/NetBSD-aout-ix86/bin-list
  Revision 1.11, David Dawes. Changes two .so versions.

xc/config/cf/apollo.cf
  Revision 1.2, David Dawes
  #ifndef'ing of #defines;
  Use of $(NROFF)$(MANMACROS) instead of 'nroff -man';
  removed dependency

  These dawes commits appear to contain two things:
  * trivial date changes and standard release branch prep
  * doc changes by Georgina Economou
  (README.sgml and RELNOTES.sgml have other changes noted above.)

By Dawes, but apparently already absent from X.org
--------------------------------------------------
xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/doc/sgml/LICENSE.sgml
  Revisions 1.24 through 1.32 mostly by Dawes. I didn't check them all,
  but there are some major changes.
  This was not merged from XFree86 after the cutoff date, so it's OK.
