The message in question was: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=202128&msg=6&att=0 In any event, XFree86 4.3.0-7 is now in Debian unstable (sid) and testing (sarge), and it supports many more variations of the i8xx chipset than XFree86 4.1.0 did.
