please try again with the i810 driver and send the output of /var/log/XFree86.0.log to this bug. Also, the output of lspci would be interesting. Please note: there is no i830 driver, but you' probably need need to load the i830 kernel DRI module (+ agpgart ). >From your logs, I see that you're using linux-2.4.18-bf2.4 - this kernel probably won't have the i830 module, because it's simply to old. Upgrade to a newer kernel. - Christian
