Package: libxft-dev Version: 2.1.2-5 Severity: normal Followup-For: Bug #237509
I get a similar/same problem: dpkg-divert: rename involves overwriting `/usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/Xft.h' with different file `/usr/X11R6/include/X11/Xft/Xft1.h', not allowed dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/libxft-dev_2.1.2-6_i386.deb (--unpack): subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 2 Errors were encountered while processing: /var/cache/apt/archives/libxft-dev_2.1.2-6_i386.deb E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) I assume your advice of "install manually with dpkg" still holds. But how do you do that? When I run "dpkg -i <file>" on the file (in /var/spool/apt/archives/) it gives the same error. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.24-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages libxft-dev depends on: ii libc6-dev [libc-dev] 2.3.2.ds1-11 GNU C Library: Development Librari pn libfontconfig1-dev Not found. ii libfreetype6-dev 2.1.7-2 FreeType 2 font engine, developmen pn libxft2 Not found. ii libxrender-dev 0.8.3-7 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xlibs-dev 4.3.0-5 X Window System client library dev pn zlib1g-dev | libz-dev Not found. -- no debconf information
