When I made the previous post, I had not installed the specific chipset module. I now have but it doesn't help. /etc/modules has the following (amongst a couple of other things) in it agpgart sis-agp If I do this the following is reported as loaded kanger:/home/alan# lsmod | grep agp sis_agp 5760 1 agpgart 32168 1 sis_agp And syslog now has the following Feb 29 10:58:10 kanger kernel: agpgart: Detected SiS 735 chipset Feb 29 10:58:10 kanger kernel: agpgart: Maximum main memory to use for agp memory: 439M Feb 29 10:58:10 kanger kernel: agpgart: AGP aperture is 64M @ 0xd0000000 But still I get the following (II) RADEON(0): [drm] created "radeon" driver at busid "PCI:1:0:0" (II) RADEON(0): [drm] added 8192 byte SAREA at 0xe0f43000 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] mapped SAREA 0xe0f43000 to 0x4840a000 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] framebuffer handle = 0xc0000000 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] added 1 reserved context for kernel (WW) RADEON(0): [agp] AGP not available (II) RADEON(0): [drm] removed 1 reserved context for kernel (II) RADEON(0): [drm] unmapping 8192 bytes of SAREA 0xe0f43000 at 0x4840a000 -- Alan Chandler [EMAIL PROTECTED]
