Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.3.0-0pre1v4 Severity: normal Since some week, my testing machine cannot connect to debian stable machine running XDM.
I connect to that machine in this way: sudo X :1 vt8 -query 05-as001 -fp tcp/05-as001:7100 The remote machine has X 4.1.0 installed and the connection was working from testing up to two week ago. When I execute the command, then I get a new DISPLAY, I get the dotted background and nothing more. so I have to close X using the keys combination. The connection works as espected if I connect to a debian testing machine. I did try connecting from a powerpc machine to many different i386 machines. Using ethereal I found that the packet exchanged are: XDMCP Query XDMCP Willing XDMCP Request XDMCP Accept XDMCP Manage The last packet is sent many times from my machine to the XDM server, until I stop the DISPLAY, so maybe this is a bug (a denial of service) against the 4.1.0 version.
