Package: libxpm4 Version: 4.3.0-2 Severity: important Hey there
libxpm4 appears to have a bad 'fgrep' in the postinst. Here's what it's actually running: root 17552 0.0 0.4 1540 404 pts/1 S 03:52 0:00 grep -F -qsvx /usr/X11R6/lib It looks like 581 of libxpm4.postinst is the culprit, with the following grep invocation: fgrep -qsvx "$dir" > "$ldsoconf.dpkg-tmp" I'm not entirely sure what it's supposed to be doing, so I'll refrain from suggesting any solutions. I will note though, in case it isn't really obvious, that there is no second non-option argument to grep - it's likely waiting on STDIN, looking for the term "$dir" expands to. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.4.25-linode23-1um Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages libxpm4 depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-11 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an -- no debconf information
