Yes, it is: | helena:~$ mount | grep devpts | devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620) A common workaround seems to be a | XTerm*eightBitInput: true | *VT100*eightBitInput: true somwehre in ~/.Xresources.
