Hi Benjamin, > [long explanation about installing MPlayer snipped]
Two things: 1) You probably wanted to post this on debian-user, not debian-x. debian-x is "NOT a user support list; this list is intended for those who deal with the source code" of the X Windowing System. 2) It's much easier to do the following, making use of the unofficial debs kindly created by Christian Marillat. It also keeps everything under control of the packaging system, without needing to convert RPMs or compile from source. I hope you find this information useful. a) add these lines to /etc/apt/sources.list: deb ftp://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ stable main deb-src http://perso.wanadoo.fr/debian/ stable main [substitute unstable for stable as desired] b) sudo apt-get install mplayer-686 mplayer-fonts w32codecs libdvdcss2 mplayer-mozilla [substitute 386, k6, or k7 for 686 as desired] regards, -- Kevin B.
