If you only have 8MB video memory and are running at 24bpp that would be this bug: #148775 - xserver-xfree86: [ati/r128] patch #069 seems to confuse XVideo into thinking it doesn't have enough video RAM on Rage 128 Mobility LF rev 2 Setting the depth down to 16bpp lets you use XVideo again. -- ilmari
