Subject: xterm: Non-ASCII chars omitted in window title

Package: xterm
Version: 4.2.1-3
Severity: normal

When the window title is set with 'echo -ne "\033]0;föø\007"', for
example, non-ASCII chars are dropped, rendering the title only `f'.
(For comparison, in Eterm or rxvt, the window title `föø' appears).

If an application (vim, for example) sets the xterm window name, the
characters render properly.

Confirmed. When one's locale settings use the UTF-8 character set, the
xterm title should be set using UTF-8 characters, not ISO-8859-1
characters. This bug therefore looks like user error.

Closing this report.
