Just as a data point, I built 4.2.1-9 from source here last night, with no problem. Even used pentium-builder and did an athlon-xp build, just to see if I could. ^_^ Wanted to build it since the complete set of packages for i386 didn't appear in the archive on the same night, unfortunately.
