I solved my problem by downgrading from XFree 4.3 to XFree 4.2.1 as packaged by blade http://people.debian.org/~blade/woody/i386/ Now it works like a charm :) with 4.2.1 though, not that bleeding edge :) Thanks a lot for helping. I will probably popup up next week in order to try to help you include the VIA driver in 4.3.0-1 or something, so that one can have a backport to woody :) Cheers, J.
