The XFree86 driver is not (or improperly) installed. Here's an excerpt from my log that shows the module being located and loaded: [...] (II) LoadModule: "fglrx" (II) Loading /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.o (II) Module fglrx: vendor="Fire GL - ATI Research GmbH, Germany" compiled for 4.2.0, module version = 2.9.6 Module class: XFree86 Video Driver ABI class: XFree86 Video Driver, version 0.5 (II) LoadModule: "mouse" [...] Please make sure that the fglrx-driver package is installed. The following command will tell you: dpkg -s fglrx-driver If it says it is installed, please check if /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.o exists and is readable. For version 2.9.6 it should be 269378 bytes in size. > [...] I've used a .deb driver built based on instruction from > http://space.virgilio.it/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/debian/fglrx-install >er.html I wonder why you didn't ask me (in italiano, se preferisci) before asking the list, as it's unlikely that anyone in here knows about my packages better than I do. ;) -- Ciao, Flavio Stanchina Trento - Italy Se credi che il diverso sia da cancellare, tu spera solo di non dover emigrare. -- Litfiba
