Source: xorg-server Version: 2:1.15.99.902-1 Severity: wishlist Hi,
I guess we should consider enabling logind support in X for the next jessie release. This would allow us to run X without root permissions if the card is supported by KMS. For legacy card we should also ship the "suid-wrapper"[1] that is supposed to detect cards whether the card is supported and act accordingly (aka not drop the root privileges). The suid-wrapper might also deprecate the Xwrapper which is Debian specific. It support the same option as Xwrapper (specifying which user is allowed to run a X server) and it also contains a "needs_root_rights" parameter in case somebody doesn't want to use logind or if the auto-detections is not working properly.
