Working on getting steam running on wheezy 64bit with Nvidia drivers. Some fairly simple items are needed to make it work which can be fixed in future steam updates. However, libgl1-nvidia-glx:i386 is needed to run the program which requires libxvmc1:i386. Sébastien's patched libraries work and allow steam to run. This was done on a clean install.
IMHO, this patch needs to be added. Steam is going open beta in the week ahead and even though its 'for Ubuntu', there are going to be a lot of people who try to get steam running on their Debian boxes.
