That wasn't in the mail to which I replied. You filed the above report after changing your submitter address on the others. > Regarding the above #233870, you are welcome to ignore defoma, just as > long as you still find a durable way of including all installed fonts in > anyone's /usr/share/fonts/* directory. Whether you use defoma, fontconfig > or a voodoo spell is up to you; either way, it MUST be fixed. I do not share your shrill assessment, but I'm not opposed to changing the stock font paths in xfs (and written by dexconf) per se. I have stated[1] my contingency, which is simply that someone needs to explain how defoma works in language I can understand, and be willing to listen to whatever suggestions I may have. To date, that appears to be an excessive burden on defoma advocates. Why, I'm not sure. For my part, I question the prudence of advocating something no one is willing to coherently justify. Consequently, I don't find your tone persuasive. What I won't do is ship a kludge in sarge that I don't fully understand to rectify a wishlist item, which this is. Lots of people, including me, have desktop environments that work perfectly fine without these odd paths grafted into their XF86Config-4 files.
