But such setup requires learning a bit about XF86Config-4 syntax (most usefull info is in XF86Config-4 manual and adhoc driver manuals "man nv", "man s3" for example). You can try letting just one card in the box to have reliable configuration from teh debain x configurator (dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86). > I am starting to think, based on what I see on various forums, that the > nVidia chip is to blame. How could I have XF86 use a generic SVGA > setting? Would that work? i guess either "vesa" or "vga" replaces it. Though i cannot swear. (i usually see vesa used). About the nvidia card the bug was already reported: xserver-xfree86: please add support for NVidia 0x0185 (GeForce MX400) to woody XFree86 : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=283257 and told "wontfix". I should have checked in your report but you use : 4.1.0-16woody4 and your nvidia card was not supported by this release. The new card support won't be added to woody, sorry. Only important security issues are backported in the official tree. (but your nv card is supported by sarge xfree86). Cheers Alban PS: and well sorry to have bothered maintainers so soon in the process . It was in a manual modification .-) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
