This is a followup for: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=234067 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=245026 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=279940
the fact that xrestop does not show all clients memory usage. It especially does not cound cached bitmap. I am not that confident that the macromedia flashplugin can take full responsability for the memmory leaks. It is built on mozilla SDK which may be at fault. Mozilla already have recorded issues about memory leaks : http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=288073 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=285761 I let it up to you to decide if this should still be closed. But those report may help in fixing mozilla bugs. Only that from the few explanation (kde teams told it was macromedia flash). And also none of the previous submitter confirmed that their leaks had something to do with flash, though i agree the chances are high. Sorry to be such a preak, i would really like mozilla flaws to be fixed someday . Though konqueror engine could be a a great replacment for gecko it is not ready yet. It would be also good if one could check that the leak does not happens with the free flash players. The problem is obviously upstream and probably not in xfree. Amit , i have found your kde bug report (though it was not an easy task by itself): http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92794 As far as i can read they never tested it and relied on your saying it was a flash only issue. Could you try on mozilla, firefox too ? Can you try with the free flash players ? Thanks Alban -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
