Package: libdrm-nouveau1a Version: 2.4.26-1 Severity: important Tags: sid
I installed nouveau for the first time (on a different machine) about a week ago, alongside a kernel upgrade. After rebooting into the new kernel, X failed to start, with a message including the string: "undefined symbol drmGetDeviceNameFromFd" After _a couple days_ of troubleshooting, I happened to notice that I had libdrm2 version 2.4.13 on the machine. I upgraded to version 2.4.26-1 (matching libdrm-nouveau1a version 2.4.26-1) and the problem was immediately resolved. I don't know that it should depend on libdrm2 >= 2.4.26, but I _do_ know that >= 2.4.3 is not sufficient. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.36.2 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-x-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
