Package: xkb-data Followup-For: Bug #622185
Hi there, I'm encountering exactly the same problem when trying to use Caps_Lock as a general modifier using xmodmap. Just as Konstantin said, this is fixed by downgrading xkb-data from version 2.1-2 (unstable) to version 1.8-2 (stable). I haven't tried the workaround (which looks like a more elegant approach), but I don't believe its existence closes the bug - xmodmap should work as well.
