Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.14.902-1 Severity: important
After upgrading my Sony Vaio PCG-R505B/P laptop from Lenny to Squeeze, the X screen (vt7) is always blank after booting. Switching virtual terminals works, and everything else appears to work fine (this bug report is being written on a SSH session on the laptop in question). The screen is still blank after restarting gdm. Marked as important because the two available workarounds do not work: using the fbdev driver crashes the kernel, and the vesa driver always gives "no screens found" error (despite exhausting all possibilities in xorg.conf). >From dmesg: ----------- ....
