Package: xterm Version: 4.1.0-16woody5 Severity: normal First, I want to say I couldn't be more pleased by the recent effort (bug 277832) to improve selection handling. The new behavior is generally quite pleasant. However, there appears to be a significant regression. Any time the terminal scrolls (by which I mean, a newline is received when the cursor is at the bottom, not scrolling of the view with shift-pgup), the selection is cleared. To reproduce:
1. Open an xterm. 2. Press enter enough times to get the cursor to the bottom of the screen. 3. Select something. 4. Press return to scroll one line. The selection is cleared. I'm not sure exactly which version introduced this behavior, but I'm guessing it was a side-effect of fixing bug 277832. I've verified that in 4.1.0-16woody5, the selection remains in step 4.
