Since some time I can't set the title of xterm windows, neither with 'xtermset -title text', nor with 'echo -ne "\033]0;text\007"' or "xterm -title text'.
I unset PROMPT_COMMAND, of course. PROMP_COMMANDs default value here is: echo -ne "\033]0;[EMAIL PROTECTED]: ${PWD}\007" which results in a nice title, i.e. ": //". I guess it has something to do with dsa-380. But there I read: "Debian has resolved this problem by disabling the window title reporting escape sequence in xterm; it is understood but ignored. The escape sequence to set the window title has not been disabled." So why does setting the window title not work? I know that this isn't important. But I haven't found similar reports in the mailing lists or bug reports, so I thought asking here was ok. Thanks, Michael. xterm is version 4.2.1-12.1. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux inultus 2.4.21-5-a #1 Tue Aug 26 18:18:39 CEST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C Versions of packages xterm depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2-9 ii libfreetype6 2.1.5-3 ii libncurses5 5.3.20030719-3 ii libxaw7 4.2.1-12.1 ii xlibs 4.2.1-12.1 libraries -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
