sorry it took so long to answer. If you have a chance, try upgrading to the X stack from squeeze/sid (or even from experimental), move your xorg.conf aside, and let autoconfiguration do the work for you (you probably want to make sure the xserver-xorg-video-all package is installed, which pulls all video drivers).
