My random freezing problems have been solved.

Here is what I did to fix the problem
1. Ran memtest86+ through GRUB and it kept freezing on tests for the 1st
pass.
2. In the BIOS I changed the DRAM Frequency from the default Auto/533MHz
to 400MHz.
3. Ran memtest86+ and after several hours of running multiple passes all
tests passed succesfully.
4. The PC and Debian has been rock solid stable ever since.

The PC is running:
Mainboard - ASUS P5VDC-MX (Bios Version 0809)
CPU - Pentium D
OS - Debian Squeeze
