Since, however, it is hard to predict when it will get fixed upstream, and since it renders the ru_yawerty input method unusable, it would make sense to fix it at least on the Debian side pending the upstream change.] I use XFree86 4.2.1-6 on Debian GNU/Linux testing. The file /etc/X11/xkb/symbols/ru_yawerty contains the lines key <AD06> { [ y, Y ], [ Cyrillic_hardsign, Cyrillic_HARDSIGN ] }; However, the Y key should be used to enter not ъ / Ъ (U+044A / U+042A, the hard sign, occuring rarely if ever in normal Russian text), but rather ы / Ы (U+044B / U+042B, occuring constantly in normal Russian text). The above lines should therefore be changed to key <AD06> { [ y, Y ], [ Cyrillic_yeru, Cyrillic_YERU ] }; Compare also the equivalent behaviour of the GNU Emacs input method "cyrillic-yawerty". (In fact it should be removed, there are better alternatives) Closing this bug now, thanks for your report. Denis -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
