I see no valid reason for this restriction (which annoys me because <Multi_key><a><asterisk>, the only available alternative, is harder on my fingers). So I suggest adding the appropriate lines to the /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale/iso8859-{1,15}/Compose files, namely: <dead_abovering> <A> : "\305" Aring <dead_abovering> <a> : "\345" aring and optionally also: <dead_abovering> <space> : "\260" degree This should probably be passed upstream, unless it's fixed in 3.9.* . --------------------------------------- Received: (at 58576-done) by bugs.debian.org; 25 Oct 2003 22:43:35 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Oct 25 17:43:34 2003 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from zobe.linuxfr.org [212.27.33.220] by master.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1ADX8A-0008S7-00; Sat, 25 Oct 2003 17:43:34 -0500 Received: by zobe.linuxfr.org (Postfix, from userid 1015) id AB861EA24; Sun, 26 Oct 2003 00:43:33 +0200 (CEST) Date: Sun, 26 Oct 2003 00:43:33 +0200 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Bug fixed in current XFree86 4.2.1 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.3.28i From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Denis Barbier) Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Status: No, hits=0.0 required=4.0 tests=none version=2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_10_21 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.53-bugs.debian.org_2003_10_21 (1.174.2.15-2003-03-30-exp) Hi, /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/locale/iso8859-1/Compose do now contain all the requested compose sequences. Quite strangely, iso8859-15 does define Aring and aring as in iso8859-1, but not degree. As this symbol can also be obtained by <dead_circumflex> <0>, this is certainly not a problem, so I am closing this bug. Thanks for your report.
