Hi! I have 4.3.0-0pre1v1 and v3 tested and I am using wdm. Whenever I choose gnome-session or kde it (=kde/gnome) crashes shortly after start (gnome at splash screen, kde doesn't show anything).
This started with the apt-get update/upgrade three days ago. There are no messages in wdm.log, XFree86.0.log (besides Sig11), xsession-errors etc. I started bash -x Xsession gnome-session and got no useful information (ended with exec gnome-session ... and crash). On the other hand twm/wmaker etc IS working. Interestingly on my desktop system where I do NO use experimental X packages it is working (therefore I am writing to this list). One maybe important point: I am using dri-trunk modules from http://people.debian.org/~daenzer/dri-trunk-unstable/ ./ but as I said, twm/wmaker is working, so it seems to be specific to gnome/kde. Therefore my (wild) guess is that it is connected to libfreetype. (Wild wild guess). What information I can provide in addition to help trace this problem? hw: acer travelmate 654LCi radeon graphic 7500M debian/unstable X from experimental dri-trunk stuff from (see above) kernel 2.4.23-pre7 (Please Cc me any comments, thank) Thanks a lot and best wishes Norbert ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Norbert Preining <preining AT logic DOT at> Technische Universität Wien gpg DSA: 0x09C5B094 fp: 14DF 2E6C 0307 BE6D AD76 A9C0 D2BF 4AA3 09C5 B094 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HADZOR (n.)
