Package: xkb-data Version: 1.8-1 Severity: normal I've run into the exact same mapping problem on 2 different machines: - one of them was a Lenny system, which was upgraded to Squeeze - the other one was a new system installed with the Squeeze Alpha1 net installer
X was working without xorg.conf. Keyboard layout was set in /etc/default/keyboard as the following: XKBMODEL="pc104" XKBLAYOUT="us" XKBVARIANT="" XKBOPTIONS="" Starting a console and executing "setxkbmap -rules evdev" fixed the mappings.
