Asus P2B (Intel 440 BX) > * make and model of keyboard Bufff... the keyboard is a very very old one, from a 286 computer. The manufacturer seem to be "Dah Yang Industry Co", Taiwan, although it also says "UNITEK" and "K-157" (maybe "Unitek K-157" is the model). It also says "WANPER 88/286" (maybe this is the model) [how many labels it has!!]. The FCC ID is DKW67MK-157. Anyway, is a very old keyboard that connects to the keyboard with a PS/2 adaptor. But it works fine in Woody, and had worked fine in sid quite time ago. > * bus type of keyboard (PS/2 vs. USB) > * whether a PS/2 to USB converter is used with the keyboard PS/2 (though the original connector is a kind of big PS/2 connector; as I said, I use a converter "big PS/2" to PS/2). > * the output of lsmod before the unsuccessful first launch of the X server Module Size Used by Not tainted parport_pc 16036 1 (autoclean) lp 7040 0 (autoclean) parport 26472 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp] iptable_filter 1740 1 (autoclean) printer 7424 0 usbkbd 3672 0 (unused) input 3520 0 [usbkbd] sg 28092 0 (unused) ide-scsi 10320 0 msr 1544 0 (unused) loop 9592 0 (unused) sr_mod 14296 0 (unused) cdrom 28768 0 [sr_mod] 3c59x 27376 1 > * the output of lsmod after the unsuccessful first launch of the X server > (but before restarting it) Module Size Used by Not tainted parport_pc 16036 1 (autoclean) lp 7040 0 (autoclean) parport 26472 1 (autoclean) [parport_pc lp] iptable_filter 1740 1 (autoclean) printer 7424 0 usbkbd 3672 0 (unused) input 3520 0 [usbkbd] sg 28092 0 (unused) ide-scsi 10320 0 msr 1544 0 (unused) loop 9592 0 (unused) sr_mod 14296 0 cdrom 28768 0 [sr_mod] 3c59x 27376 1 The diff from both files is: --- lsmod1.txt 2003-10-09 20:08:30.000000000 +0200 +++ lsmod2.txt 2003-10-09 20:09:33.000000000 +0200 @@ -10,6 +10,6 @@ ide-scsi 10320 0 msr 1544 0 (unused) loop 9592 0 (unused) -sr_mod 14296 0 (unused) +sr_mod 14296 0 cdrom 28768 0 [sr_mod] 3c59x 27376 1 I have tried another old keyboard from a 386, that uses the same "big PS/2" to PS/2 converter, and the problem remains. This night I'll try with a modern PS/2 keyboard. Thanks for your interest. Cesar -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
