Need quotes around that readlink subshell, or we can get: /var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/preinst: line 469: [: too many arguments Check other maintainer scripts for similar constructs and fix them. Don't anybody raise the severity of this bug. The test command is inside an if so the preinst script does not fail. In fact when readlink doesn't return anything the loop body shouldn't be executed anyway.
