Package: xdm Version: 4.2.1-6 Severity: normal i just was entering single user mode from a running kde session started from xdm. This worked fine, but after that, xdm did not start again. The reason for this was, that xdm failed to delete the pid file on termination, and it also failed to check the pid in the file for stale data.
